A retired Lieutenant Colonel with the Michigan Air National Guard, Bill Johnston joins The Cronin Law Firm as Chief Financial Officer. As a Commissioned Officer–127th Wing at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Bill served as the Chief Financial Officer for the largest Air National Guard installation in the United States, where he implemented and administered laws, procedures, regulations, and directives pertaining to all aspects of financial management. From there, he served as Chief Executive Oficer for a 2,500 member Air National Guard unit as well as Executive Advisor to the Air Commander in the management and administration of all services essential to the operation of the Wing. In 2007 he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, serving as Operations Officer/ Commander. Bill received numerous awards and honors throughout his career, including a Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, and a State Legion of Merit Award. He also received three Sustained Superior Performance Awards. In addition to attending Air Command Staff College, Bill has a Bachelor’s of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Finance from Western Michigan University. His extensive leadership, management, logistics, problem solving, and financial accounting experience lead him to work in the private sector as Finance Manger for the non-profit, Institute for Population Health and finally to The Cronin Law Firm.
